The film explores the mind of a person who has been hospitalized in a mental health clinic. It is based on the poems "Birthday party", "Purple fire", and "Hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital" by the poet Manolis Nanouris who is the main character of the film and the person whom his mind has been explored. The form of the film is experimental documentary which helps us to see what is happening in the mind of a person with mental health issues, while listening to the story behind it. Different color effects have been used in order to show the fire of the soul, poetically speaking. In this documentary, we see the intimate interior of our character coming out dancing, trying to fit into the society we live in, where mental health needs to be treated as the physical body and it's something to take care of every single day. The music in the film aims to create anxiety and serenity at the same time, as these are the two sounds in the mind of our character, and it's a proximity to the moment that you know that you need to ask for help, when your heart beats close to coma.
The film is based on a true story, based on the experience of Manolis Nanouris who's been hospitalized in 2020, taking the opportunity to give visibility to mental health issues and create awareness on unfair discrimination, aiming to reduce social stigma of mental illness. It combines poetry, video poetry, experimental visuals and music, in the form of an experimental documentary, where the exterior meets the interior. Special, dreamy visual effects have been used to experience the ability of the viewers to connect and disconnect from the natural state of mind.
